Restylane in Pittsburgh

A family of hyaluronic acid fillers in three weights. One holds up a fold, one smooths a fine line, and one sits between them. The area decides which.

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a line of FDA approved fillers made from hyaluronic acid, the sugar your body already produces to keep skin hydrated and full. Because it is something you already make, there is no allergy testing before treatment.

What separates the products is how much lift each one can hold. That single property decides where a gel belongs: a filler strong enough to support a deep fold would be far too heavy under an eye, and one light enough for fine lines would disappear in a cheek.

Matching weight to area is the whole decision, and it is one your injector makes after looking at your face rather than one you need to arrive having made.

The strongest of the three, with the most capacity to hold volume. Used for drooping skin and for the deeper lines and folds where a lighter gel would simply be absorbed into the problem.

Thinner and smoother, with less lifting power by design. Used mainly as a lip product and for the fine lines where a heavy gel would show through the skin.

More hold than Silk, less than Lyft. It suits creases and fine lines across the face, and the under-eye area where the requirement is subtlety over strength.

Priced per syringe, and the total depends on how many areas are treated and which weight each one needs. You get an exact figure at your consultation.

The gel is chosenby the area.

You do not need to arrive having picked a product. Where the problem is, and how much support it needs underneath, decides which of the three weights goes in. Most plans use more than one, and the choice is made looking at your face rather than from a menu.

  • The line sits still

Restylane replaces volume. If a line only appears when you move, a wrinkle relaxer is the tool and filler will not touch it.

  • Something has gone flat

Lost cheek projection, a hollow under the eye, or folds that have deepened as the support above them dropped away.

  • You want it reversible

Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with an enzyme if the result is not what you wanted. Rarely needed, but it means the decision is not permanent.

  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding

And no active infection at any site planned for treatment. Your provider reviews your full history first.

Several months to well over a year, depending on which weight went where. The body breaks hyaluronic acid down rather than storing it.

Three weights,five places.

Restylane is not one product but a family at different weights, and the map of a face decides which goes where. Support wants the heavy gel, detail wants the light one.

Select any marker to see what is treated there and which weight does it. Your injector draws the same map on your own face at the consultation.

Three questions we are askedabout choosing a Restylane product.

By the area and the problem, not by preference. Deep folds and lost structure want Lyft. Fine lines and lips want Silk. Creases and the under-eye area usually want classic Restylane. Most treatment plans use more than one.

Several months to well over a year, depending on which product is used and where. Stronger gels placed deep tend to outlast lighter ones placed superficially, and your own metabolism moves the number either way.

Both are hyaluronic acid families with products at different weights, and both are FDA approved. The gels differ in how they are cross-linked, which changes how they feel and behave in tissue. Your injector chooses between them on the anatomy in front of them.
