Emsella: Unisex Urinary Incontinence & Vaginal Laxity Treatment
Patients, whether male or female, who suffer from urinary incontinence can often feel immense social anxiety, distress, or embarrassment due to the condition. And, until recently, there were no non-surgical or non-invasive means of treating it effectively.
Emsella changes that. An FDA-cleared nonsurgical treatment for urinary incontinence, with emerging promising evidence in treating vaginal laxity, Emsella is straightforward, simple and singularly effective. Emsella is the world’s leading non-invasive treatment for urinary incontinence in both men and women.
Acqua Blu Medical Spa is currently Pennsylvania’s foremost provider of Emsella. If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms of incontinence (or vaginal laxity) due to age, pregnancy, or other factors, please schedule a personal consultation to discuss your Emsella treatment options.
Emsella: Non-Invasive Treatment for Urinary Incontinence
Emsella is a groundbreaking non-invasive treatment for urinary incontinence, a condition wherein patients experience full or partial loss of bladder control due to the loss of muscle strength in the pelvic floor.
Emsella is a chair-like device that safely delivers thousands of small electromagnetic pulses into the pelvic floor to strengthen the muscles, thus effectively treating the root cause of urinary incontinence without surgery, incisions, or scars. In addition to treating urinary incontinence, Emsella has promising results in the treatment of vaginal laxity for the improvement of sexual functions. Each Emsella session lasts approximately 30 minutes, and most patients need a series of roughly 6 sessions for optimal results.
Emsella Technology: High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Technology (HIFEM)
Emsella works on high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM), a system that delivers thousands of electromagnetic pulses of energy into the pelvic floor. It induces deep muscular contractions similar to a traditional workout, with each contraction providing the same benefits as a Kegel rep. A 30-minute Emsella session produces roughly 11,200 contractions, effectively making it the equivalent of 11,200 Kegel exercises. By the time your session is over, your pelvic muscles will be significantly improved and strengthened—and not nearly as sore as you’d probably imagine.
Am I a Candidate for Emsella?
Yes, Emsella is the ideal treatment for men and women suffering from the symptoms of urinary incontinence or the loss of full bladder control. There are no contraindications or restrictions for candidacy.
Emsella Treatment Overview
Emsella treatment is simple. You’ll sit atop the device, as an expert adjusts the level of contractions. As electromagnetic pulses penetrate your pelvic floor, you’ll feel a slight tingling sensation but no great discomfort. This will continue for 30 minutes as you relax, read, or catch up on emails or the latest episode you may have missed from your favorite show. Post procedure, you can resume all of your daily activities. Dr. Heil will provide a complete Emsella treatment plan, with a recommended number of treatment sessions to be completed for optimal results. Most patients need six sessions twice a week, but Dr. Heil will determine the ideal frequency for your specific needs.
Emsella produces results immediately after the first session, and your urinary incontinence will continue resolving with every session. By the time you’re done with all sessions, you will very likely have no more problems with incontinence.
